We are excited that you have chosen to be a part of the Alaska Summer Project. It shows your desire to follow the Lord wholeheartedly, grow in your relationship with Him, and learn better how to take the life-changing message of salvation to others.
This summer we are seeking to provide an environment for growth through teaching, small groups, and personal time with the Lord. We will focus on developing your leadership and ministry skills through a variety of experiences, including reaching out to the community of Anchorage.
Our vision statement for this summer is Eternal Life, Eternal Legacy. This vision will permeate all that we do in Alaska this summer. We look forward to sharing more of that with you once you arrive on project.
We want you to know that the schedule this summer will be full and demanding. The living quarters are tight and cramped, but if you focus on the Lord and seek to serve one another, the rewards will be great.
- The over-arching purpose of this project is to prepare you to be equipped as a life-long laborer for Christ, wherever He may lead you in life. Our intent is to increase your ministry skills so that you will have a greater impact on your campus, in your family, and your community.
One of the goals of the project is to develop your leadership and teamwork skills. Accordingly, staff will leave the project the fifth week, turning leadership and project responsibilities over to students.
While this will be a stretching summer for all of us, we want to assure you that it will be worth it. You will grow more this summer than possibly ever before, no matter your level of spiritual maturity, and will spend the summer with people who are likely to become longtime friends.
This “Welcome to Alaska Summer Project” website is designed to give you a realistic idea of what the project will be like. If after reading the information here, talking with your parents, and prayerfully considering this as an option, you don’t feel that you can participate in all elements of the project, please feel the freedom to decline our offer of acceptance, as the Lord may have another place for you this summer. If you agree to participate in the project, it means that you accept the guidelines communicated on this site.
