What if my support check is written to me instead of Campus Crusade for Christ?

Sorry, but we cannot process your check. You can call and see if your supporter will write you a new check written to Campus Crusade for Christ. This way your supporter will receive a tax deductible receipt for their gift.

What if the supporter DOES NOT want a tax-deductible receipt for their check they wrote to me personally (or the cash they gave me)?

• Then you could do one of two things:
  • Cash the check and use the money for project costs (transportation, support-raising, etc.). If you do this, your gift does not count toward your project fees.
  • Cash the check and write a check to, “Campus Crusade for Christ” and process your check like all other checks. This would then count toward your project fees (no, you won’t get a tax-deductible receipt because this is considered paying part of your registration fees & you can’t receive a tax-deductible receipt for something that benefits yourself).

Why do I have to make copies of my support checks?

Campus Crusade for Christ processes millions of checks per month, and occasionally a check will get misplaced. The copies are made as proof that you actually were given that check to count toward your project fees for Alaska. It’s extra security for both you and I (Alaska Operations Director) to have a copy of your checks. Please don’t skip making the copies!

Why do I need to send out so many letters?

If you think about it, if you sent out 50 letters, and every person supported you an average of $50, that would add up to $2500, which is $900 shy of the project fees! You’ll be surprised at how the Lord will provide and who He will provide through, so don’t count anybody out!

What happens if I don’t have all of my support before arriving on project?

We don’t want to deny you experiencing a great summer with the Lord. We will evaluate how much support you have before project and talk about coming on project. If we decide you are able to come on project, we will come up with a payment plan on project (yes, you will be personally responsible for the remainder of your project fees) TO BE PAID BEFORE STAFF LEAVE THE PROJECT (which is halfway through the project). This is non-negotiable. We want you to experience a summer free from financial burdens, and will take measures to ensure that you do not owe money to the project after the staff leave project.
